Our Experience

Evan began his design career drawing on napkins. Like everyone else in LA, he was working in the film industry when he decided to build a guest house on his property. Pleased with the results, he designed another home. Soon friends—and strangers—were asking him to design their homes. And Gaskin Designs was born.
What keeps Evan inspired twenty years later is the pursuit of design that’s sexy, luxurious, and sophisticated — and a love of getting his hands dirty. He still draws each of his designs —sometimes on napkins— and personally selects each of his building materials.
When he’s not working, he’s spending every moment that he can with the love of his life, his daughter.
Sam’s journey started in Mexico, where she was studying Civil Engineering on a volleyball scholarship — seriously, true story. Immersed in Mexican architecture, she began training her eye and shaping her love for design into something more substantial.
When COVID hit she returned home to LA and, in a gorgeous twist of fate, met her mentor, Evan Gaskin — and her calling. Sam’s day-to-day includes: running the office, visiting job sites, and helping Evan do a million other things. It’s a role as eclectic as her background and designed just for her.
Juan Is our Job site supervisor. Juan overseas all day-to-day efforts on all Gaskin job sites.
